A different methodology for the study of a new curriculum. Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, UNCuyo
The present study was conducted within the context of the Curriculum that the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences (UNCuyo) implemented from 1994 onwards in Agronomic Engineering and Bromatology Degrees. Some educational indicators were calculated (Passing Rate, Drop-out Rate, Repeating Rate and Permanence Rate) with the aim of carrying out a control on the application of the Curriculum, with a new methodology. The data were analyzed using three different procedures: "Distance determination between matrices and their corresponding ideal values", which allowed the making of a distance index of the system as a whole. "Principal Components Analysis (PCA)" followed by a "Cluster Analysis (CA)" which allowed the grouping of the subjects according to their similarities. Finally a "Discriminant Analysis" assured that the calculated rates do not discriminate between the subjects of the Basic and Instrumental Cycles (only in the case of Agronomic Engineering).
